H.O.P.E Closet

H.O.P.E Closet, which stands for Helping Other People Everywhere, is an ongoing philanthropic project of LJWC which provides individuals in Lemont and surrounding communities with quality, free clothing.  The closet has sizing from newborn - adult along with accessories such as shoes and winter gear. 

H.O.P.E Closet began as a Lemont Juniorettes project and was originally located in the River Valley Elementary School.  In 2022, the Closet was moved to the basement of the Lemont Park District Centennial Community Center to provide easier access to shoppers and volunteers.  Due to Park District construction, the Closet was moved to Christ Community Church in 2026.

The closet is currently located on the Northwest corner of the second floor of Christ Community Church, 13400 Bell Road, Lemont, IL 60439.  Please use the NW entrance near this location for parking and Closet access.  Guests are to refrain from using the CCC main entrance whenever possible.

Donations

H.O.P.E Closet accepts donations of clothing, shoes, and accessories in good condition (no rips, stains, or dated clothing, please):

Items Accepted:

• Clothing for infants
• Shoes for infants
• Coats for infants
• Summer accessories (hats, swimsuits)
• Winter accessories (hats, gloves, scarves)

Items Not Accepted:

• Dated, ripped, stained, or dirty clothing
• Race/special event t-shirts
• Underwear
• Purses
